Following a Week 1 split in Oklahoma and Texas in Week 1 of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and a bye in Week 2, the home opener for the Missouri Capitals finally took place on Oct. 31 against the St. Louis Spirits. While the Caps put up a valiant fight, they came up just a bit short, falling 132-119.

The game was tied 27-27 after the first 12:00, but the Spirits found their groove in the second and third quarters. Despite outscoring the Spirits 41-25 in the fourth quarter, the Capitals' comeback attempt couldn't quite get it done.

Jarvis Jennings was on fire for the Caps, totaling 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. After tallying 43 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in a game in Week 1, Jarvis is shaping up to be a formidable threat to Capitals opponents.

Malik Carter turned in a double-double, racking up 20 points and 17 rebounds. Chantel Stancil also had himself a double-double, scoring 19 points and contributing 10 assists to go along with his 5 rebounds.

Now 1-2 on the ABA season, the Capitals look to right the ship on Nov. 7 at the Youth and Family Center located at 818 Cass Avenue in St. Louis. On Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m., the Caps host the Indiana Lyons (2-1) from the Indianapolis metro area.
